Things have been great lately! I've been dealing with a lot of stuff, most notably The Feelings, but overall I've been pretty okay. I've been enjoying hanging out with my friends on my Discord server, writing fic for Battleship Exchange, starting and tending to a digital garden, hanging out with animals, watching television, making computers, and generally having a fun time.
BUT! MOST NOTABLY!
I GOT A BIRDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
She is a white goffin cockatoo, her name is Saira, and she is an absolute sweeeeeetheartttt!!!!!!!!! She loves dipping peanut butter crackers in her water dish, pooping on my floor, laughing at me, listening to Aaliyah, and being an all around menace! And her scream will give you a migraine! And I love her! So! MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I lived in Arizona, I had a cockatiel named Bill Cipher, and he was a sweetheart. I miss him.
I did the Battleship exchange this year, I wrote 10 fics, 15k total, and did 2 art pieces. Most of it was for friends lol. I had a lot of fun doing it, and made some art I'm pretty proud of. Some Solana/Alara art I did for a beloved friend:

Anyway, I had a lot of fun writing for Battleship even if I sadly got minimal interaction on the works I was most proud of. But I made some people happy and got some really really great gifts, and most importantly, i had FUN, even if I probably won't be able to get a tag claim for next year. (Poor vivisection tag, you will never see the light of day in Battleship 2026.) I still need to comment on some gifts. Friends in my Yellowjackets server wrote me quite a bit of good work, and I've been eating it all up tastily. Time to go read the Taivan pre-crash stuff after I write this 👀
I started a digital garden recently, though now I'm wondering how dreamwidth might form a great digital garden now that I think about it, and an easier one as opposed to a static html code-every-page-individually type thing. Dreamwidth has a great tagging and organizational system. Hmmm. Hm............ I might migrate my garden here instead. Not here here, but a different Dreamwidth account, maybe? Or maybe as a community?
In other news, a beloved friend started working with Raspberry Pi and inspired me to get a Pi 4b and make a dedicated writing device. Here it is, below:
....with a fun little Solara background, no less. I'm extremely proud of myself as I built this device all myself and while it might be "basic", it's still a LOT for me. So now I go on and move on to trying to self-host software on Linux, which I still haven't been able to do successfully yet.
